I was looking for my picture of the sunrise on a beautiful day in Maui, on Haleakala, way above the clouds. To me it represented the trip to Hawaii I never thought I would take, and a scene I never thought I would see in person. My daughter had a job which took her to Hawaii for a year. It was the longest time we had ever been apart, and we really missed each other. So I worked extra hours and dipped into savings and went to visit her.
I found the picture, but it just did not work. The one that fit easily into the blog program is the one taken on a cloudy day on the big island, Kauai. Now that I see it, I like this one much better. The colors are a better match aesthetically, and the fact that it is a bit cloudy fits in with my ideas, being content even though each day of my life is not the perfect sunny day that I thought would make me happy.
Looking at it from a broader spiritual perspective, we don’t know what is best for our souls, we only know what our ego wants. Connecting with a higher power on a regular basis, and following our passion is the only way to find our purpose and do what is truly best for us.
